Communicable Disease Program
Communicable Disease Program
QBH has increased the number of intake staff and physical intake space to help reduce anxiety for new clients and their families and create a more relaxed environment. By having more support staff and a more spacious intake area, QBH aimed to reduce stress, create a more welcoming environment, and allow more opportunities to ask questions by patients who have a communicable disease. Counseling, testing, and referral is provided to clients in a timely fashion.
QBH believes that individuals must be empowered to become the solution to their problems through learning and skill building. The treatment should be consumer-centered and holistic, focused to support the recovery, health and well-being of the consumer, to improve their quality of life through improved functioning, reduction of symptoms, building support systems through community connections, and to build resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
Syringe Exchange program is one of the major components of our Governors action plan for reducing Opioid overdoses in Michigan. QBH has embraced an overall goal to reduce the harm and incidents of accidental overdoses.Opioid overdoses kill 5 people every day in Michigan. We at QBH are expanding our harm reduction services and with syringe exchanges we will provide Fentanyl testing strips and Narcan training with distribution of free Narcan kits.
